AhlulBayt News Agency: The Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organizations (MAPIM) has strongly condemned the US-Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), warning that the aid initiative is a deceptive maneuver designed to prolong the suffering of Palestinians rather than provide genuine relief.
MAPIM President Sheikh Azmi Abdul Hamid criticized the US and Israeli governments for using so-called humanitarian aid operations as a smokescreen to intensify the systematic destruction of Gaza.
He pointed to the ongoing siege, which has lasted over 600 days, causing widespread death, devastation, and starvation among Gaza’s 2.3 million residents.
Sheikh Azmi described Israel’s deliberate restriction of aid as a war crime under international law, accusing the regime of weaponizing humanitarian assistance.
According to the Malaysian scholar, the GHF is merely a militarized operation disguised as relief, serving as a propaganda tool for the US and Israel.
He noted that aid organizations and human rights groups have warned that the GHF violates humanitarian neutrality, militarizes aid distribution, and fails to meet basic humanitarian standards.
Sheikh Azmi also highlighted the ongoing Israeli aggression against Gaza, stating that the regime pretends to deliver aid while continuing its attacks.
MAPIM urged the international community, particularly Muslim nations and global civil society, to reject the false humanitarian narrative promoted by the US-Israel alliance. The organization called for an immediate, unconditional ceasefire, full access for UN and independent humanitarian agencies, and investigations into the conduct of the GHF.
Additionally, Sheikh Azmi encouraged intensifying the global Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) campaign as a peaceful resistance strategy.
He warned, “The so-called humanitarian aid operations by the US and Israel are nothing more than a delaying tactic to complete genocide — and the world must not be complicit.” He emphasized, “Gaza does not need militarized crumbs of aid. Gaza needs the bombing to stop, the siege to be lifted, the perpetrators to be held accountable, and the people to be free.”
